What is George-Hill Anthony Foundation’s mission?

George-Hill Anthony Foundation’s mission is to protect (marginalized) women and vulnerable children through life enhancement opportunities and fiscal equity tracking that affects women and children.

Why was George-Hill Anthony’s Foundation created?

GHAF was created to promote a better society for (marginalized) women and (vulnerable) children. GHAF’s Founder, having (been) engaged in fiscal governance work for several years, considers the general method of advocating for marginalized women and vulnerable children as inadequate within the torrents of (effective) fiscal governance work, hence, the creation of GHAF to add momentum, working with allied groups in pushing for a better society for marginalized women and vulnerable children. Budget allocations for women and social welfare ranks, most often, are among the lowest in governmental (allocational) envelopes. More voices and interventions are needed to bridge allocational gaps and engendering of fiscal justice.

What type of projects and interventions does the Foundation supports?

George-Hill Anthony Foundation supports direct scholarships for less privileged children, shelter for widows and the poorest of the poor, organizes marginalized women into clusters through agricultural livelihood programs, human rights protection for (vulnerable) children and marginalized women, gender-equity campaigns, capacity building on how to track social development projects/programmes and empowerment opportunities in government’s budget that targets less privileged beneficiaries, particularly, for (less privileged) children and (marginalized) women, organizes marginalized women into budget monitoring groups for tracking of governmental projects and programmes that are allocated to women and vulnerable children, social mobilization, beneficiaries audits, monitoring and evaluation, including, democratic accountability programmes, among others.

How does George-Hill Anthony Foundation get its resources?

From inception in 2013 to 2020, GHAF resources was provided by the founder. In December 2020, the Board of Directors decided to take the resources burden from the founder through validation of the Foundation’s Board Charter, which emplaces institutional structures that mandates the Foundation to source for resources for its work through partnerships, proposals and grants sourcing that GHAF’s strong appetite for accountability, value for money and impacts identification of all beneficiaries, especially, from organizations and individuals that values real-time undiluted accountability and audit returns. These should be an added advantage to GHAF’s resource mobilization efforts.

GHAF’s programmes, activities and supports are not restricted to a particular region nor group of people. The Foundation’s interventions are societally generic for marginalized women and less privileged children.  However, some interventions may be tailored to peculiar factors and existential complexities.
